Class History The long awaited September of 1956 arrived and we finally embarked upon our four high school years that were to go by all too quickly. In our Freshman year we elected Jeffery Roberts as President, Lynn Gutermuth, Vice President, Sharon Burdick, Secretary and Betsy Boehme, Treasurer. We did not accomplish much as Freshmen. In 1957 we took on the title of Sophomores. We really felt as though we were getting up in the world! That year we elected Bud Beck as President, Bob Reynolds, Vice President, Janet Deyoe, Treasurer, and Sharon Burdick, Secretary. During the year we sponsored a food sale and a dance to boost our funds. When 1958 rolled around we became Juniors and at last we were entitled to our class rings! We ordered them early in the year, but they did not arrive until the end of February. How excited we were! Most of us went around holding our hands up to our faces so everyone would notice them! That year we elected Bud Beck as President, Bob Reynolds, Vice President, Sharon Burdick, Treasurer, and Rita Gundrum, Secretary. Early in the year we undertook a magazine drive which netted quite a sum for our treas- ury. During the course of the year we also sponsored a food sale and sold jackets with the Berlin emblem. When March came we began preparing for the Junior-Senior Prom - the really big event of the entire school year. We chose Sayonara as the theme, and with the untiring efforts of Mr. William Stanziano and class members we put on a very successful prom. Another year ended and we were about to become Seniors. The last rung of the ladder was before us! To begin our Senior year we chose four very capable officers: President, Wayne Crandall, Vice President, Walt Golowaty, Janet Deyoe, Treasurer, and Joyce-Ann Loker, Secretary. As Seniors we were entitled to the soda and candy concession and chose Terry McCart to head the committee. Plans for our trip to Wash- ington soon got under way as did the yearbook. We were beginning to realize that the end of our high school years was near and we began to raise all the money we could for our treasury. Pins were sold which had the gold letters B.C.S. and the year of gradua- tion. Sales for the yearbook ads, booster list, and the books themselves got off to a fast start. Late in January we began thinking of our senior play. After much thought we finally chose The Unguided Miss.” Tryouts were held during English class and the parts were given out. The play was given on the nights of March 24 and 26 and was a howling success. Later in the spring we sponsored spaghetti suppers in the various towns. Then the long planned for and dreamed of trip to Washington arrived. Did we have fun! I'm sure none of us will ever forget it. Upon our return we were glad to say that our treasury held out for the yearbooks which arrived in early June. Graduation is upon us and we cannot help but look back on these four yean with fond regret.

Class Will We, the class of 1960, of Berlin Central School, being of sound mind and judgement and recog- nizing the uncertainties of life, do make public and so declare this to be our last will and testament. We hereby bequeath the following: Richard Agan leaves a dollar for gas to Richard Demick and Allan Brown. Bud Beck leaves his Dairy Bar to Coach Muller. Sharon Burdick leaves her teddy bear to Dave Mahoney. Betsy Boehme leaves her worn out oboe reeds to some aspiring young oboeist. Carolyn Crandall leaves a tie clasp to Mr. Fleishman. Wayne Crandall leaves to his brother. Dale, four happy years at B. C. S. Janet Deyoe leaves Molly Mooney her flashlight for next years cellar exploring. Howard Ellis leaves his height to David Coulter. Robert Ellis leaves his good behavior to Hjarl Zwinge. Walt Golowaty leaves his size 32 basketball trunks to Meesh Maxon. Bob Reynolds leaves Mr. Wander a box of old menus for quizzes and a fire drill schedule so quizzes will be uninterrupted. Joyce-Ann Loker leaves her hair to the boys of B. C. S. so they will be able to mess it up. Janice Morin leaves her calorie chart to Connie Smith. Fred Horton leaves Mr. Davis some peace and quiet on the players bus. Sandra Rose leaves her homemaking needle and thread to Joan Fiske. Gordon Russell leaves Mr. Fleishman a piece of gum for English class. Dick Johnson leaves Barb a sign saying Hands off. She's mine. Wilma Thomas leaves a diet pill to Walt Harrington. Terry McCart leaves the Mark of the McCart on every long-haired girl in B. C. S. Robert Smith leaves his place in the lunch line to some patient person. Diane Healey leaves her ability to get along with people to anyone who needs it. Ron Bartus leaves his curly hair to Mr. Cornwall. George Corlew leaves his popularity to Tony Mastropole. Eugene Hangst leaves - gladly! John Schmid leaves Amos Jones his place in the road for his daily cigarette. Mary Stevens leaves her blue eyes to Kathy McCumber. The Seniors leave the Student Council to be run by some other class. To Mr. Urbano a permanent spot in the lunch line - the last place. The Class of 1960 leaves B. C. S. in a reasonable good shape. To Mr. French, a sound-proof room to give his lectures. To Mr. Gosso, a mechanical drawing class who have plates in on time. To Mrs. Maxson, an automatic dictating machine. We leave Mr. Wander to recall the three years of Terror as our homeroom teacher and hope he finds another class as nice as ours. We leave Joanne Strait, Pat Piche, Pat Fitzgerald and Carol Ward a year's supply of late passes.
