Stubby Burdick went on with a singing career and is now singing for the MET. Not the Metropolitan Opera, you understand, but the Marvelous Everlasting Toothpaste Co. Oh well, you can't have every- thing, Martin Gorton decided to enter the literary field. His present job as gag writer for such well-known celebraties as George Gobel, Tennessee Ernie, and Jackie Gleason is well suited to him. Do you hear those screams? They're for the next arrival, namely Carl Stowell. Carl was spotted by a talent scout and as a result wound up in that fabulous city of Hollywood. He is starring in the Tarzan pictures. Maureen Atwater, Alice Grover, and Arlene Phillips create quite a sensation as they now join their former classmates. They were recently all members of the Women's Olypmic team that traveled to Australia. They captured a number of honors in the diving contest. They are all going to be members of another event soon, to be more specific, the wedding of Maureen to a certain sailor. Arlene and Alice are to be bridesmaids. Bill Peluso joined the Navy shortly after he graduated and this is his nrst visit to the States since he took his first cruise. It seems that he got so seasick that he stopped off at one of the Tropic Isles to recouperate. Unknown to Bill, a group of monkeys was playing a game of baseball with coconuts. Un- fortunately Bill was hit on the head with one of these and thinking that the enemy had attacked, immed- iately dug a fox hole and started fighting his own private war. Luckily a native of the island at long last rescued him. Dick Jones has been very successful and happy in his week. He started out as an instructor in a dancing school, but gave it up to become choreographer for a group of Mexican Jumping Beans. Alice Greeley and Stella Sweener are arriving now. Alice became a nurse and is very happy with her work. Stella is also very satisfied with her career as an interior decorator. If Bill Hyatt isn't careful she might start designing a more decorative stable for his race horses. Jan Goodermote and Eva Undritz both became teachers, but Jan is retiring very shortly to marry a certain other B.C.S. graduate. Incidentally, they hope to raise some detention addicts of their own! Here comes our little clown, the former Gail Peluso. Upon graduation, Gail went South in order to come into closer contact with the best of clowns, who, like her, were wintering at Sarasota, Florida, former home of Branum, Bailey circus. Instead of a clown she decided to wed a millionaire and raise some little clowns to carry on her tradition. Now we see Loretta Lingner arriving. Loretta went on to college and studied cafeteria planning and management. Guess where she is employed as assistant dieticianl That' right--at B.C.S. Walt Demick and Bob Michaels are among the last few to arrive. Walt and Bob formed a partnership and are the owners of a chain of pizza stands throughout the country. They are thinking seriously of opening a branch office on Mars. Estella Amidon, Edna Stevens, and Kay McMahon are the last ones to arrive. Estella became a child's nurse and is presently caring for Edna’s four children. Kay's mother retired from her job in the office at Berlin Central and Kay has taken over her job. Now that we are all together again, I am sure there is much to talk about. So let us conclude this meeting by reminiscing about the good old days at Berlin Central. 21

Class Prophecy It is the year 1967. Just ten years ago a group of energetic and ambitious seniors graduated from the Berlin Central School. They have gathered together today for a reunion to talk over old times and tell about recent happenings. Since they needed a large place in which to gather, they chose the huge dairy farm belonging to Bill Hyatt. Along with his 800 head of cattle, Bill also has 12 fine race horses. His horse Native Prancer won the Kentucky Derby last year. First to arrive upon the scene are John Marra and Bob Turley. Soon after graduation John and Bob joined the Air Force. They were flying high until a cute little gem persuaded Bob to come down to earth and they are very happy with three jet pilots of their own. John is still flying high. Arlene Chittenden is next to arrive. As you will recall, Mrs. Chittenden is the former Arlene Yerke. Her husband Howard is head mechanic at a garage in Troy and Arlene is kept busy at home with their two sets of twin boys. Just driving up now is Betty Jean Goodrich. Yes, believe it or not B.J. has a license. In fact, she is now the proprietor of a driving school and delights in teaching other people how to drive. Her slogan is Never Give Up”. Margaret Hewitt is spotted by one of the crowd. Margaret entered business college and upon receiv- ing her diploma, wed one of the professors. Just what were you studying, Maggie? Tom Ward is next to arrive. Perhaps you have heard of Tom, as he became quite famous after he developed a small sports car that will do 350 miles an hour. But he slowed down enough to capture the heart of a girl in Ohio and they are quite happy racing all over the country. Joyce Stevens left for New York soon after graduation and got a job in a telephone office. But this just didn't seem to be the right profession for Joyce as she got all the wires so crossed that for two weeks New York City was without telephone service. Needless to say, Joyce decided to resign. Joyce is happily married now and to get even with the telephone company, she had a phone installed in every room in her 14 — room home. She drives them crazy making person to person phone calls to herself! Barbara Conklin got a job at Behr-Manning after she graduated and before long became private secretary to a rising executive. To make sure she wouldn't lose any Social Secutiry benefits, she mar- ied her boss. They are the proud parents of three sons. Next to join the reunion are Theresa Gardner and Thelma Knuetter. Theresa was married soon after graduation and has been traveling all over the world with her husband who is making a career of the Army. Thelma also walked down the aisle early in 1958 and is very happy taking care of her three little girls - triplets no lessl It has been rumored that Ken Jewett went to the dogs. That is true; he became a veterinarian and is now President of the American Kennel Club. Jessie Phillips surprised us all by being elected as the first U.S. woman Senator from New York State. Her biggest accomplishment to date has been in promoting a legislative bill to have Elvis Presley in- cluded in all history books. Mrs. Jack Styczynski is among the next to arrive. She is, as you know, the former Barbara Burdick. Jack and Barbara were presented with a very special gift from Santa Claus last Christmas -- a set of twin girls. After doing such a splendid job as editor of the yearbook, Jann Wager became interested in journalism and is now one of the top reporters in the country. She has made only one mistake so far, that was in pruning the name of the wrong candidate as victor after a recent presidential election. 20
