Freshman Class History The Berlin High School Freshman class grew by leaps and bounds. There were always new faces to greet, and many old friends were still with us. The year, however, saw several old Berlin handsn return to the States. By Christmas our class consisted of about one hundred students. Although this group was large, its school spirit, enthusiasm, and hard work made it appear to be much larger. The boys worked hard at football and helped to win the Conference Championship. Those who did not play sat on the sidelines and backed our team. A large group of students made the long Bremerhaven trip to cheer our boys on to victory. We were especially proud of Larry Jenson and Steve Denton, two of our classmates who made the varsity. Throughout the season the basketball team was also supported with enthusiasm. Linda Pruett and Brenda Spake were chosen as cheer- leaders and helped to cheer all of our teams on to successful seasons. Top Scholars were Larry Jenson, Bill Harrigan, Sam Kamikawa, Chadwick Wfeeks, Steve Denton, and Phil Reeds. These boys really showed the girls, but look out! Next year the girls will be out for revenge! Freshman class officers for the year were Presi- dent, Larry enson, Vice-President Bill Harrigan Secretarx Dorothx Poling, and Treasurer Chris Fair Our Freshman year in Berlin American High School was busx interesting and exciting I am sure we all feel as if our comprehension of this rear s school work was great Also our learning is part of our first b g step toward college and life for better and greater knowledge Christine Fair . l , L Y Y A . x f . .YF ' 4 . c 7 , ' 1 . l I u .p .ppp if S iai' r t o at Henry Boll Sibyllc Burden Frank Cancellierc George Clex eland Xlichacl Dans ohn Difilippo Ester C rxcix George C llmore
