f - yi 1 AUDIO-VISUAL ASSISTANTS assist in the distribution and collection of all AV equipment used in the building - not an easy task with many stairways to climb and so many request to fulfill. THE OFFICE ASSISTANTS are a group of students who have time available in their schedule of classes to help with routine office responsibilities. YOUNG VOLUNTEERS, sponsored by Mrs. Hare, was formally organized at Berkshire in October, 1968. They are affiliated with the Oakland, Michigan and National Associations of Youth for Retarded Children. During study halls, volunteers work in the Special Education room as tutors on a one to one basis or with small groups. Since the fall semester one hundred fifty eight dollars was raised for Research to prevent mental retardation. Officers are: President, Christine Ito, Vice-President, Nancy Villa: Secretary, Lynn Schucterp Treasurer, Ann McEwan, Public Relations, Lenore Gonzalez, Keith Cameron: Historian, Paula Green- span. SERVICE CLUB Mrs. Richard, the sponsor of the Service Club, had some nifty ideas to improve the school. She sent out a plea and forty students are now striving toward those goals. This year the Service Club sponsored two dances and the second annual White Elephant Sale. The club hopes to use the money they made for fancy waste containers for the halls and graffiti boards All in all the .club has done a great job in the last two years.
