The entire event was coordinated by the Student Council Officers, each of whom took part in the presentation. Services included solos by Felicia Barnett and Kristi Weaver and an in- spirational message by Young Life Director Richard Black. After the recessional the graduates and their families joined together for a reception in the cafeteria. But the night that all will remember the most was May 29 when at 8 p.m. the 734 Berkner seniors gathered as a group for the last time for commence- ment exercises at Moody Coliseum. Graduates had one thought in com- mon — the future. After speeches from Valedictorian )ulie King, Salutatorian Mitsuko Kondo and Senior Class President Mike Raiff, the largest graduating class in the district took until almost 11 p.m. to walk across the stage. For the second year in a row, faculty members joined in the commence- ment program by wearing gowns and stoles denoting their degrees, and marching in the processional. Perhaps nothing can best describe the occasion as well as the class motto, To strive, to seek, to find and not to yield. — Lord Tennyson.
