Bucs Serve Up Winning Season Concentrating on both individual and team improvement, the l985 Volleyball team tinished the season with a 21-13 record. Developing the team's youth meant an early start in August and many Saturday morning practices. Strong showings in both the Tampa Bay Tournament and the Governors Classic, however, compensated tor such hard work and dedication. Several individual ettorts shone in tournament action. Barbie Sample was chosen to play on the Tampa Bay Tournament Team, and Whitney Bucklew, although not picked for the team, impressed many with her outstanding play in the Governors Classic. Never, however, did individual ettort outshine the success ot overall team ettort. Under the guidance ot Coach Dagastino and the leadership ot seniors Mary Campbell and Leigh Swann, team spirit was always present. The year was indeed a step towards a future state championship.
