This year ' s Spirit Week was one of the most successful and spirited ever. Although the festivities were hindered by storms, the week was characterized by active par- ticipation from many BHS students. Spirit Week was kicked off on Monday, November 9, with Hollywood Fantasy day, followed by Golden Ol- dies day, Nationality day, and finally, Red Gold day. Students were seen wearing many creative and original costumes. Unfortunately, the class competition was rained out. For the first time in many years, Berkeley held a float competition. Entries were made by the seniors, the ju- niors, the Student Senate, and La Raza, whose entry won the competition. A parade had been planned for before the game, but was rained out. Also, a parade at half-time and a pep-band were scheduled, but these too were cancelled. 77
