In addition to the cheerleaders, spectators at this year ' s football and In addition to the cheerleaders, spectators at this year ' s football apd basketball games may have noticed thirty two young ladies dressed in yellow and red, CHEERI NO LIKE CRAZY. They are none other than this year ' s PEP squad, dressed in their new uniforms. Under the leadership of sponsor Ms. Mc- Kinney and President Pam Harrison, they have been urging on Jacket teams along with the cheerleaders. Furthermore, they have held fund- raising events such as chicken dinners and bake sales. The PEP squad proved that they can not only cheer, but also have athletic abilities as they tied the varsity football team, 47-47, in their first annual basketball game. 1. The Homecoming activities were a big success this year, thanks to the dedicated effort of Ms. Bennett. Fifty candidates ran for positions of the Homecoming Royalty, including seventeen runners for Queen. There was tremendous participation by the student body and the majority of their votes resulted in the crowning of Beverly Greene, Queen, and Selwyn Miller, King. Berkeley High ' s spirit was really L-l-V-E as the sophomores matched the seniors in enthusiasm, both WINNING THE SPIRIT C U PI This spirit, which was carried from the parade, through the rally, and displayed on the field, helped sup- port Berkeley High in their win over Harry Ell ' s Falcons, 32-24. 1.
