The Asian Student Union, under the sponsorship of Fumi Matsumoto, held several fund raising activites including a luncheon, bake sale and dance in order to raise money for their annual spring retreat. The club also raised money for the Arlene Sano Memorial Scholar- ship fund. The theme for this year ' s re- treat, held at Valley of the Moon campgrounds, was ' Get- ting Together. ' 1. cpep Squad BHS featured the largest Pep Squad in it ' s history this year, with a total of seventy-two very spirited young ladies. The Squad, which served as the backup unit of the cheerleaders, generated the true fire-up” spirit of BHS from game to game. K ±- r 0 =M.E.S.A. MESA was designed for minority stu- dents interested in the science and en- gineering fields. Math- Engineering-Science-Achieve- ment, went on several field trips this year, including one to P.G.and E. and EXXON, in order to learn more about en- gineering. Students enrolled in the pro- gram ear ned $200.00 a semester for their B-average grades in math, science and English. Pep Squad: first row (I to r).
