Berkeley High Wins First Steve Hayashi about to roll his opponent over for a pin. Berkeley High won its first ACAL wrestling championship when its matmen bested the league with a 6-2 win record. Ten Jacket wrestlers qualified in the ACAL finals: Jarvis Brown, Darrel Crowder, Steve Ellis, Jesse Stevenson, Dean Muran- ishi, Lamonte Bennett, Clifford Brown, Percy Samuels, Gordon Choyce, and Roy Phelps. Jacket pinners emerged best in the league with a total of 1 18 points and beat Richmond in the finals by 6 points for the champion- ship. A Berkeley wrestler at a temporary dis- advantage.
