WENDELL WOODSIDE From Summit, Now Jortoy The American Field Service was organized to bring the countries of the world closer together by the exchange of high school students. A program of this type was long in becoming a success, but this last summer 724 American Students were sent abroad, and an equal number came to this country this fall. Berkeley High School participated in the A.F.S. program this year, bringing two students from abroad and sending three students to Europe. Martha Ellis lived in Finland. Walter Moore lived in Germany, and Peter Green lived in Spain. Our foreign students are Helen Colvin from New Zealand and Luigi Ostellino from Italy. Berkeley High School is only one of many schools participating in the American Field Service program bringing students from twenty countries together to exchange ideas—fulfilling the A.F.S. motto. “Walk together, talk together O' ye people of the earth, for then, and only then shall ye have peace.” BHS EXCHANGE STUDENTS.
