SENIOR CLASS HISTORY LOW 10: That memorable day when we first filled out all those forms in our strange, new home- room was about 1090 days ago. It was all so different. How would we find all those rooms, and where was that elevator? After that tedious and eventful first week, we began to settle back and enjoy our new life at Berkeley High. We were proud of our newly elected officers who were Harry Chandler, president; Villard Wright, vice-president; Toni Blair, secretary; Cheryl Olsen, treasurer; and Evelyn Buel, social secretary. With these officers to guide us we were off to a good start, and we presented as our concession at Fun Night, a baseball toss. We had no Slope concession this year. HIGH 10: Our spirits were boosted now that we weren’t the lowest creatures in the school any more. Bud Kamb was our president. Our other officers were Bill Peterson, vice-president; Lynn Cathcart, secretary; Dagmar Givant, treasurer; and Cheryl Olsen, social secretary. We were still the biggest class in the school and mighty proud of it. Many of us joined one of the numerous spring sports and earned letters. Again we had no concession. Our dance, Neptune’s Holiday,” was not too successful. We lost 11 cents. LOW 11: Berkeley High was nothing new to us now. Again Harry Chandler was elected president. Henry Chin became vice-president; Ann Dalziel, secretary; Toni Blair, treasurer; and Susan Ide, social secretary. Words and Music” was our Junior Prom. It was one of the most successful dances ever presented at BHS. Our hot dog concession at the football games brought us a lot of much-needed money. At Fun Night this term, we presented a garter toss as our concession. HIGH 11: After a long winter, spring had come at last. But spring fever had not overtaken our active class officers. Pete Herb was our new president, and Bruce Williamson our vice- president. Carol Rose was secretary; with Dagmar Givant, treasurer; and Lynn Cathcart, social secretary. They got us started with a marvelous Junior Prom called Jail break.” We also hauled in the money on our cotton candy sales on the Slope. LOW 12: We finally made it. We were seniors at last. And on the BOC were five of our class- mates helping to run our school government. Harry Chandler was elected vice-president of the student body, Dick Keating was Circle B” president; Pete Herb, Honor Society president; Nancy Loomis, GAA president, and of course, our class president, Bill Vaughn. Our other class officers were Bob McManus as vice-president; Terry Garthwaite, secre- tary; Pete Scott, treasurer; and Emily Buel, social secretary. With all that spirit behind us we were a cinch to win the spirit cup, and we did. Gremlins were our concession on the Slope this term. Graduation was coming closer and closer, and we were looking for- ward to our last half year with great excitement.

senior message PETE HERB President As you all go your separate ways, I hope you look back on this term as the most memorable of your stay at Berkeley High. I am proud to have been a member of this class and prouder to have been able to serve as your president. Thank you jl for your cooperation. Until 0vr paths cross once more, goodbye and good Pete Herb Senior Class President For three years the members of this class have been working together building up to this final triumph, our graduation. Through these times we have shared many hardships and letdowns, but we kept going for- ward. The dances we put on, the rallies we presented, and the Slope sales we backed were examples of our tremendous spirit. Throughout the past three years, we have had good times and have won many friend- ships that we shall always treasure. This final climactic term is one we won’t soon forget — the laughter at Ditch Day, the dreamy Senior Ball, the memories of our Banquet, and finally the sadness and happiness of our graduation itself. All these now turn into moments of the past. 26
