Members of Honor Society and CSF. With the enthusiastic support of nearly 2 50 members, the BHS chapter of the California Scholarship Federation has com- pleted a very active and productive term. A cause for great joy was financial aid given to our treasury by the BOC helping us to present honorary gold pins to the Sealbearers. For the first time in several terms, a number of our mem- bers represented us at the regional conference at Asilomar on May 5. Two of our other activities were a Coke Date for prospective members and a cake concession. Certainly the term would not have been the success that it was without the spirit and efforts of Dave Grether, vice-presi- dent; Barbara Yates, secretary-treasurer; Mr. Nelson and Miss Repetto, co-sponsors; and Miss Bartlett, our dedicated sponsor. I hope that our CSF will continue to be the strong, living organization it is now. Members of Honor Society and CSF. PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE For the outstanding success of all our activities this term I owe a great deal of gratitude to Louise and Susan, who worked tirelessly on all our projects, to Miss Nova Bartlett, whose sug- gestions and help were invaluable, to the diligent efforts of the Hat Checking Committee, and finally, to all the members of the Honor Society. It has been a true inspiration and honor to be president of such a capable and genial group. It is with great sadness that I leave Berkeley High School, for nowhere will I again find such diversity, or the inspiration and beauty thereof. In the student body, every race, religion, and ideal is represented, and in each there are outstanding in- dividuals. Berkeley High School can become a true example of the ideal of American Democracy. I challenge those remaining, and those to come, to seek this goal. Go Well, Tom Engelsing Honor Society President TOM ENGELSING Honor Society President LOUISE DUNLAP SUSAN DUNLAP Vice-President Secretary-Treasurer honor society 18
