HENRY DORSEY Vice-President u -M u o CHERYL OLSEN Secretary ' DAGMAR GIVANT Treasurer MARY LAWRENCE Head Yell Leader HARRY CHANDLER President As the time for graduation draws near many memories are brought into my mind. Our fine auditorium, musical productions, and athletics have made out- standing marks which will last for years to come. We should all be proud of the facilities and the privileges we receive here at school. Because of these, Berkeley High is ranked among the highest in the nation. This semester has been a great success in many ways. The student body de- serves more credit than can be paid for their work on the Operetta and the Senior Play, both of which were very outstanding. We were well represented at the Northern California Music Festival. The band and orchestra deserve unending praise for their performances at the Festival and here at school. They have certainly increased the prestige of Berkeley High. Athletics again brought us a good name in the world of sports. Our golf, swim, tennis, baseball, and track teams represented us well at all their contests. We have had individual celebrities in our midst as well. They have excelled not only in the fields of music, science, speech, and athletics, but they have also reaped a large share of the available scholarships. Surely they deserve praise for their efforts. Yes, this has been an outstanding term, one that we cannot look back upon without pleasant memories. The presidency has meant much more to me than can be explained on this one page. It has been a big job but an inspirational one. Several times people have come to me and asked whether they should run for an office or not. I urge all of you to run for some office during your school life. The greater the effort that goes into the student government, the greater the benefits will be. A stu- dent body office is an opportunity of a lifetime that we can’t afford to miss. To those of you with whom I am graduating I would like to say that it has been great going through these invaluable years of training and learning. The friendships which have been made here will last as long as we live, I’m sure. To those who stay behind, I would say to make the most of these three short years. They go by all too soon and you, too, will be sorry to leave . . . Harry Chandler ASBHS President 12

This semester, fifty-four Senior Friends, a larger number than ever before, have gone on carrying out our motto of Friendship and Service.” Through serving at the Senior Ball last term, doing Cafeteria and Lobby duty, ushering for school functions, entertaining at the Senior Dinner, and most important, helping new girls to feel at home at Berkeley Fiigh, each Senior Friend has made her time count as a real asset to our school, and my sincerest thanks goes to every one of them for a job well done. I would especially like to thank our sponsor, Mrs. Ulry, and my two co- chairmen, Margaret Dickie and Pan Gallick, who have helped a great deal. Serving as Senior Friends’ chairman has been a wonderful experi- ence, and one I will never forget. Roberta Bell Senior Friends Chairman
