 Board of Control How can I thank each of you enough for your help and support? I have learned that the success of a school is dependent upon the individual support of every student. No few individuals, no one faculty member can be as valuable to the school as the combined effort of you, the student body. I would like especially to thank the students and the faculty whose school day did not end at 3:00 o'clock, but who could be found working on various activities: sports, music, and drama late into the afternoon and even at night. You are the ones to whom Berkeley High is truly indebted. The results of the student body's energy and enthusiasm was clearly seen throughout this last semester. Perhaps most gratifying was the abundant new talent discovered and presented. Our football team received good support and, although we didn't take first place in the league, we still beat Piedmont. Class activities were numerous and successful. It was a pleasure to see the number of awards and the recognition given at the Awards Assembly to outstanding students in every phase of school life. Yes, Berkeley High is a great school and BOC feels an especial pride in the part they have played in it. A small bit of the school rubs off on every graduate and is carried with pride to every part of the world. To these graduates, I say, You are lucky to have attended Berkeley High. To all students and future seniors, I say, Keep Berkeley on top. Keep it one of the finest schools in the U.S. In closing, I again thank you all, students and faculty, who helped to make Berkeley High what it is. Gordon Benner, President. 10
