I swear I only wish they had her. “Tis true that she has lovely locks, That on her shoulders fall ; What would they say to see the box In which she keeps them all. “Her taper fingers, it is true ’Twere difficult to match; What would they say if they but knew How terribly they scratch.” Guthrie Williford : Guthrie is a good-natured lad, and especially fond of the girls. He does have melancholy spells once in a while. After Clyde Hobgood refused to sit in the same seat with him, he was heard repeating Byron’s lines: “When we two parted In silence and tears, Half broken-hearted To sever for years, Pale grew thy cheek and cold, Colder thy kiss ; Truly that hour foretold Sorrow to this. “The dew of the morning Sunk chill on my brow — It felt like the warning Of what I feel now.
