. . . School Spirit . . . School spirit is the thing that keeps a school going even though it is months until the next vacation, and the teachers seem to be smothering everybody with homework. When the ball team wins its game, there's an air of happiness all over the school, and the homework is not so tough after all, But what if the team does not leave the court in victory? School spirit prevails because the fans fill the bleachers at the next home game and cheer all the more loudly. The faculty takes part in school spirit, too. Above left and right; the faculty-senior ball game. At left, Mr. Kemp Even though it at the Carnival. snowed and lots of the floats were ruined, the Home- coming Parade carried on as planned. (Right) Left and Right: The Cheer- leaders get most of the credit for keeping school spirit alive, and they sure eam it.

. . « The Junior-Senior Prom and Banquet . . . The theme of the 1967 Junior-Senior Prom and Banquet was Seventh Heaven , At the banquet, the seniors found out why they could not get into heaven and discovered that there are not too many secrets at BHS. When we fin- ished the great meal, left Boone Tavern, and arrived at the gym, we viewed a beautifully decorated gymnasium. So beautiful, in fact, even the seniors themselves had to admit that it was the best Prom ever. Where the action was: the '66-'67 Junior- Senior Prom. Good food, good entertainment, and good company helped the banquet become a suc- cess? At the Prom, Jane Britton and Donald Blackburn crowned Beverly Johnson- and Abby Scruggs Prom King and Queen. Jerry Tull, Senior Class President, puts in 6 his two cents’ worth.

. . . Graduation... . Commencement was held May 26th, 1967. In some ways graduation was an ending; in some, a beginning. It was an end to all the wonderful days at Berea High School. Saying goodbye to dear old BHS and walking from the building for the last time as High School students was just as hard as saying good-bye to an old friend. It also was the beginning of a whole new future; for some, college life. Few seniors gave graduation much thought until the very night Commencement began. Whenever graduation was mentioned, it was tossed off with little discussion, and usually with only carefree remarks. Even when the caps and gowns arrived, we still didn't realize how close the end was. When that night came, however, we were suddenly awakened, and it seemed to be all over much too soon.
