From missing pictures to missing editors. But from our efforts came the pages that appeared in this book. We, as a group are proud of what we have ac- complished. I personally wish that more of the student body had lent some support. The challenge of putting together a book that tries to please some 1,400 people is indeed an intriguing situation. We feel that given what we were this is our best. We only hope you like it. But this is Berea, and that being what it is, I feel almost confident in saying that YOU will comment in negative fashion. We have accepted this as the Berea way. If it’s not food service it’s convocations, or R.H.P. Please let this mild repulsion provoke you the under classmen into action. Our door is always open. Especially to suggestions. Let us get to know you. We’d like to say that this book is aimed more at the seniors than any one else. The symbolism of looking back, the memories. Yes, that’s what you have of Berea now. We have tried to recreate your senior year for you. Our effort, however, has been a losing battle, for every one had a different year. I hope we spot-lighted some of your high points. Congratulations and good luck. Come back and see us all at Berea College. It’s time now to thank everyone that’s helped. The staff has tried to feel pretty independent this year. Even so we realize there are those that have been there when needed someone — anyone. Thanks to everyone that got stopped on the way to dinner to identify some one in a picture. Thanks to Gioria Van Winkle, for pointing us in the right direction. Thanks to coach Pearson for letting us keep his secretaries busy. Thanks especially to James Replogle and everyone in the College Press. And thanks to you the reader for supporting the Chimes. — Your Chimes. I’d like to apologize for the absence of any person, place, event or organizations from this yearbook. Please try to understand there is only so much time and space. Thank you, Louise Norwish, Editor Gary D. Phillips, Co-editor inter ‘collegiate press. inc.
