The Bentonville High school has been operating a veteran's agriculture program for the past 20 months. The school now has 156 veterans enrolled in this program. Seven instructors give the veterans comprehensive class instruction in agriculture, to- gether with actual work on the farm. This helps the veteran farmer to become estab- lished in a worthwhile farming program, which will provide him with a favorable en- vironment, and a knowledge of how to farm successfully through training to become a successful farm operator. Instructors, Left to Right: james C. Boyd, Vocational Agriculture Instructorg As sistant Agriculture Instructors: Olen J. Webb, Dilford Hutchens, Lloyd E. Eyer, Wm T. Carroll, Carl Hutchens. Instructors not shown: W. R. Terry and Robert E. Russell. VETERANS TRAINING ON THE JOB On February 14, 1946, the first class in related training for veterans training on the job met at the Bentonville High School. During this two year period more than two hundred veterans have enrolled under this training program. Forty-two were on roll at the first of the program, but during this time the program has maintained an average enrollment of seventy-five veterans. As time goes on some drop off the program, new ones enter, and others complete their period of training. All the trades and industries are represented in this training program-mechanics, electricians, plumbers, salesmans in the distributive fields, insurance, real estate, and banking. Every phase of business is involved in giving this training to the veterans program. 'Four hours a week are spent in related work, under the supervision of teachers in Law, Carpentry, Blue Print Reading, Mechanics, Electricity, Business English, Business Math, Bookkeeping, and Salesmanship. Other courses are added or discontinued as the need arises. INSTRUCTORSS - Mrs. W. B. Boyd-Supervisor of Related Work. Mrs. J. H.
