T H E E C H O Page six FOREWORD Q32 For the tirst time in the history ofthe Bentonville School we have endeavored to give a permanent record of some of the events in this chapter of our life. As we launched forth in this untried venture we tossed about on unknown seas but have at last reached the harbor in our first voyage. .-Xlthough we have sailed over stormy waters and quiet seas we are confident that these trials have added to the height of the crown of our success, XYe knoxv that we are better able to cope with the problems of life. May this tirst voyage, full of our greatest hopes, aspirations, and ideals be the means of echoing and re-echoing' the finer qualities and the higher goals in our voyage of life.

Come let us show honor through a book, That we with an Echo may send To those who wish to know the life and look Of Our Mutual Friend. So we hope this Echo always to resound, That day after day, year after year, may we give or lend It to the friends of the community around, For its words are the deeds of Qur Mutual Friend.
