1 i First Row, Left to Right--Warren Rhinard, James Kline, Robert Stevens, Wayne Yaple, James Lunger, Charles Appleman, Student Manager. Second Row-Andrew Pavalonis, Kenneth Kelsey, Earl Keller, Drew Yost, Charles Ash, Richard Herritt, Franklin Klase, William Davis, Coach. BASEBALL Among the candidates who reported for the 4l baseball season, there were only three regulars from the preceding year. Facing this obstacle, Coach William Davis put the group through an early practice. After the first game had proved that the team was not in good shape, the prac- tices were lengthened and made more diligent. Immediately the boys' baseball playing ability improved and Benton finished the season with but three defeats against seven wins which gave them a game average of .700. Even though the boys did not receive honors, much credit is given to them and the coach for developing so fine a team from inexperienced players.
