' X, CLASS HISTURY N September, 1938, fifty-one of us as bewildered Freshmen stood on the threshold of our High School careers, wondering what lay ahead for us. To better enable us to overpower the impediments in our path, we elected class officers: Carl Shultz, President, Eugene Ash, Vice President, Charles Appleman, Secretary, Gayle Harri- son, Treasurer. Under their leadership and through the advice of Mrs. Vivian Beishline, we were able to survive bravely the tyranny of the Sophomores and other Upperclassmen. The next year, as Sophomores, we felt more sure of ourselves, and we began to join more school activities, feeling ourselves worthy of these privileges. Again under the management of Mr. Brink, we elected the class officers: Charles Appleman, President, Donald Lunger, Vice President, Marian Shannon, Secretary, Lillian Yost, Treasurer. The next year, having run the gauntlet of the first two most try- ing years of our high school life, we emerged as Juniors. First of all Robert Brown was elected President, Betty Yocum, Secretary, Gayle Harrison, Vice President, and Carl Shultz, Treasurer. In this year, under the guidance of Mr. Alvin Sutliff, we chose our class rings, symbols of our school life. The play, College Daze, pre- sented by our class during this year, was a great success. Most of us attended our first' formal party, the Junior-Senior Banquet. Again many of us participated in extra-curricular activities. Now we graduate. We are leaving behind us a host of mem- oriesg ahead of us lies our destiny. BETTY SIEG. 19
