The building was to 0Ullllll0ll10l'2lf0 tho consolidation of thc Bonton Borough and llcnton 'l'ownship schools. In Slillft-illllll'l'. 1927. work was startcd on tho construction of tho building. School bcgan that ycar for tho last ti1no in tho old school building. Looking out of thc windows thc 1.1.pils could watch tho lllfkll working on tho building. At tlrst all that could bo soon was tho stool fraino work of tho building. Soon tho bricklaycrs bcgan thoir work and bit by bit tho bricks woro laid in placc. It was not long until tho outsido con- struction was coniplotod and work thon began on tho insido of tho building. Pupils could not scc tho inon at work now but could hoar tho stcady hannncring and banging as walls wcrc bcing built and doors and windows put in placc. In tho fall of that yoar school bcgan in tho now building. Evcryonc was glad to have a now building in which to attcnd school and noarly ovoryonc spcnt thcir spare tinio in- spccting thc building. Tho pupils wrc as ovorjoycd with tho ncw building as a child is with a new toy: and why shouldn't thoy bo ovcrjoyod? Tho park, which tho school houso facos. affords sovoral acrcs of play ground for tho chiidrcn as wcll as a plcasant placc for tho oldcr childron to spcnd thloir lcisurc filllk during noon hours. The bui.ding is locatcd on tho old school ground on First stroot, facing thc Park. It is a two story building with stool franio work and' brick walls. 'Pho wall iinisll is ivory colorod Taxotono. Thc wood fl'illllllill,LI is stainod light brown and varnishcd. Thc lloors arc doublc wood throughout oxcopt in cntrancc halls and toilcts whcih arc of l'l'lll0Ili'. At tho onds of tho halls arc two cntrancc doors and tho stairways. nA third and main cntranco conios into thc niiddlo of thc hall in tho front of thc building. 'l'hcrc aro cight standard class rooms and tho stago. which arc uscd as class rooins. Thorc arc laboratorics for scionco. cooking. sowing and agriculturc. 'l'hc cooking labora- tory contains a cafotria whcro lunchos aro sorvcd at noon. A dining room and girls rcst rooin aro connoctod with thc cooking laboratory. 'l'hc scioncc laboratory contains thc school library. A wcll stockcd library of 2.000 yolnmos in addition to niagazincs and olthcr litcraturc, suyplics thc school with good. clcan rcading niatorial, both for study and cntortainmont.
