26 TI-IE ORACLE x ' ' TI-IE JUNIOR CONTEST Our annual Junior Contest in Expression was this year held in the Universal Theatre, Friday evening, February 14, by the class of 1920. It proved to 'be one of the most successful events in the 'whole 'history of the con- tests of our school. This contest is one of the most important affairs in the J'unior year. It is the first 'big public event which the class has to manage, and offers the first good opportunity for those interested in public speaking to speak in pulblic. The Sc'hool Board aswarded the following appropriate prizes to those having the highest average, The first prize, a War Saving Stamp, to Claude Moore. The second prize a Thrift Card 'half filled, to 'Miss Helen Hess. The third prize a Thrift Card one quarter hlled. to Miss Florence Thompson. However the great value lay not in the prizes, 'but in the experience and training which each one received.
