THE ORACLE 23 SCHOOL SERVICE PAGE 1 Below we have listed the names of the students that have attended Benton Vocational School who have risked their limbs, their sight, their all, for the sake of our country. Young men and women alike, who saw their duty, who went at the first call and who were among the first to show their ability against the Hun. These boys and girls were in nearly every branch of the service and many received commissions or were made non commissioned officers. Benton High was represented by boys in nearly every great battle where the Americans were operating. Perhaps some of our own nurses were nursing the wounded just behind where our boys were fighting. Who knows? Many have been wounded and four have given their lives That this country shall not perish from the earth but have everlasting life. We should be and are exceedingly proud of these people who have made such a reputation, as soldiers and nurses, for themselves and their school. In the years to come when we read the names of these brave soldiers and nurses we shall then begin to realize what a great work they helped to do. Those Who Gave Their Lives in Service.
