Nostalgia: We Remember — Overwhelmed by the complexity of contemporary life — and yeaming, perhaps, to escape to a less troubled past — people are looking back to what they regard as more pleasant, peaceful yester- years. The pendulum swings to old memories, old songs, old fads, old styles, old stars. Yesterday's fashions keep showing up for reruns: women with plucked brows are slipping into slinky halters, wedges, and chubby jackets. While men are stepping out in double-breasted suits, two- toned shoes and bow ties. W.C Fields, you must haye noticed is everywhere and everyone is wearing Mickey Mouse watches again. Most school kids remember the good days when they worried about important things like what will Popeye do next and what will happen if Romper Room is cancelled. With a little prompting most teen-agers can remember watching the Beatles making their American debut on the Ed. Sullivan show. Reviewing comics, films and presidential elections, plus television, pop music, and childhood games that unite all Americans, you'll probably have a good start to being nostalgic. By the way, do you remember who Barry Goldwater's running mate was in 1964?
