Outings Provide Educational Odyssey Education is not confined to the four walls of a classroom. To enhance interest and to compile information, classes and clubs took field trips. These excursions ranged from parades for the band and ROTC to the American Royal for the Saddle Club. Field trips provided students with knowledga- ble background never available to them in the classroom. They also furnish enjoyment to most of the participants. Some of the favorable points in- cluded getting out of school from one period to the entire school day, possibly traveling out of town, plus abandoning the old routine for a while. Experiencing new things and places are all part of a field trip, so it can indeed be called an educational odyssey. 22 Outings
