Once again, as in the past, the Benton High School Basketball team has been, “The team to beat.” Much of the credit goes, of course, to coach Jim Modis for the outstanding leadership he has displayed throughout his coaching career at Benton. This year, with the help of Coach Charles Holm, he has led another outstanding team to a winning season. Great ball handling and defensive skills were key assets in the Benton attack. Good sportsmanship on the part of fans and players alike also helped greatly in the downfall of nearly all of Benton’s opponents. Through cooperation of the coaches, the players, and the fans, the 1967-1968 season once again produced a championship team. 148 FRESHMEN: First Row: Randy Morelock, Shane McDonald, Richard Palmer, Rusty Cook, Larry Robertsotr, Barry Musser.
