EDWARD J. PRAW1TZ Edward J. Prawitz, who was in the photography business in St. Joseph for more than 52 years, died in his home at the age of 77. His residence was at 2720 Sacramento Street. A lifelong resident of St. Joseph, he was the son of the late Louis and Lena Prawitz. He attended the Immaculate Conception parochial school. Mr. Prawitz had been the principal figure in group and indi- vidual pictu re-making in the St. Joseph schools for more than 30 years. He has photographed children of students who posed for him in their own student days. His pictures in school yearbooks run into the thousands. A few years ago he closed his studio in the King Hill building, which was being remodeled. His studio had been in that building since the building of the civic center. Earlier he had a studio at 920 1 2 Frederick Avenue. In World War I days his studio was in the Electric theater building. The Prawitz files contained many outstanding photographs of old Lake Contrary and beauty spots in the St. Joseph area. In December, 1959, Mr. Prawitz became associated with Cyrill R. Bray. His surviving relatives are his wife, Vallene, and a sister, 2 Miss Mollie Prawitz, St. Joseph.
