CITY ADMINISTRATORS Planning for the city’s school system centers about the administrative offices uptown where SUPT. G. L. BLACKWELL keeps the com- plex machinery moving smoothly. Not only is he conversant with the new trends in school management, but he has the faculty of delegat- ing phases of the work to competent assistants whose activities add to the sum total of ac- complishment. Miss Helen Garth is his effi- cient secretary. Best known to the city's student bodies is MR. (i. MAX COLEMAN, assistant superin- tendent in charge of instruction. He maintains direct contact with schools, teachers, and cur- riculum. 11 is alert resourcefulness is appar- ent in the wide variety of modern projects carried on in our classrooms. An excellent speaker, he meets civic groups as the public relations representative of the schools. MR. R. V. BLOMFIELD, assistant superin- tendent in charge of business, handles the huge volume of accounts that such an organization as ours creates. Bonds, insurance, tax sched- ules, buying and allocating supplies are some of the many transactions requiring his atten- tion. Ilis careful management is evidenced by the fact that the system’s finances stav “in the black.” (four)
