G. L. BLACKWELL keeps the com- plex machinery moving smoothly. Not only is he conversant with the new trends in school management, but he has the faculty of delegat- ing phases of the work to competent assistants whose activities add to the sum total of ac- complishment. Miss Helen Garth is his effi- cient secretary. Best known to the city's student bodies is MR. (i. MAX COLEMAN, assistant superin- tendent in charge of instruction. He maintains direct contact with schools, teachers, and cur- riculum. 11 is alert resourcefulness is appar- ent in the wide variety of modern projects carried on in our classrooms. An excellent speaker, he meets civic groups as the public relations representative of the schools. MR. R. V. BLOMFIELD, assistant superin- tendent in charge of business, handles the huge volume of accounts that such an organization as ours creates. Bonds, insurance, tax sched- ules, buying and allocating supplies are some of the many transactions requiring his atten- tion. Ilis careful management is evidenced by the fact that the system’s finances stav “in the black.” (four) BENTON ADMINISTRATOR' j v As principal MR. W. L. (eight) It's a BIG MOMENT when There's an all-classes assembly SENIOR SPONSORS, OFFICERS Mr. Francis, Miss Campbell, Dave Branson, vice-pres.; Mr. Thedinga, Tom Farrell, pres.; Carol Wolfing, secy.; Miss Doherty, Miss Robertson. Sponsors and officers deserve a special “moment of remembrance” for the numberless activities they have planned—and executed—all with the aim of making pleasanter, more meaningful, and attractive the years the seniors have spent in Renton’s classrooms. Certainly the class of ’56 will remember with gratitude and affection this cheerfully energetic group. SENIORS JERKY AO EE Earth being so good would heaven seem better? (twenty) JUNIOR SPONSORS, OFFICERS Left: Mr. Saunders, Miss Finley, Ronnie Dittemore, pres.; Steve Culver, vice-pres.; Mrs. Gulick, Judy Bunten, secy.; Mrs. Mauck, Mr. Springer. Junior class officers and their sponsors are already old hands at the business of class organization and promotion. They got going during the sophomore year to accumulate the funds required for an elaborate dance honoring the seniors. This group has had fun at skating parties, a movie or two, and at sponsoring those campaigns to make everyone conscious of the merits of salt water taffy. Had they saved the wrappers that got scattered on the floor they could have decorated the ballroom at Clarkie's Edgewood where on May 18 the big party took place.
