IPuge Sixleeul FOOTBALL At Trenton, the Bentonites seemed to lack what it takes to get the ball across the line. They made more yardage than the Bulldogs, but neither team succeeded in scoring. Evans, playing his first var- sity game, did some nice ball playing. November 6. The Cards and Sharnrocks, on even te rm s throughout most of the game, did some thrilling ball playing on the Lafayette field for a Benton win, 13-6. In the third quarter, Simpson, fleet-footed Shamrock, ran forty-two yards for a touchdown. Otten threw a thirty-six-yard pass into the waiting arms of Pax- son, who ran the remaining five yards for a touch- down. Otten made the extra point. In the last quarter, a pass meant for Slaybaugh was inter- cepted by Paxson, who ran through the entire Shamrock team for a score. The point tailed. The whole Cardinal team played brilliant ball with Capt. Paxson standing a shade above his team- mates. November ll.
