BENTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS HOWARD PERRIN. Sur-anm'rsNDaN'r BENTON. ARKANSAS c'Qa01s11 1 5 , 1959 Y Jear Faculty and Student Body: The 5QHQ0l year 1959-60 is still a year of confusion in the american high school. This is largely due to the differences in philosophy of various groups of our people. CHS group says that thc high school should educate for the different phases of man's life, This philosophy would seem to indicate that education is good because it has vocational, political, and social aims. The other philosophy says that we should educate Hhan as Mann This philosophy holds that man is a moral being and as such he is ihmeasurahleg that he is a being of infinite worth, a child of an all wise God. If this be true, educjtion must seek to enlighten mens minds and nuture his conscience. Yay we in Tenton High School seek to carrv out both of these philosophies. Je need to teach more vocational, political and social knowledge, hut along with this we must also teach more of the moral and spiritual values of life. Hay l937-GO be a good year. Nav the products of Qenton High School he able to hold a joh, practice good citizenship and social graces and at same time have the faith in themselves and their God that they need to live happy worthwhile lives. Fast wishes to all of you. line 'ely, Howard Perrin, Supt. pr' 0. enneth O. Cook, Prin.
