ZMQCQQ ' eymfe ,I nlnlhd The staff is to be congratulated for the work they have done on this annual I hope that during the years to come this record of your activities will recall many pleasant memories The scholastic record of this school has never been questioned we know that our graduates have certain basic skills, but we also realize that on the technical training possible will not be any real value if a person has not d veloped a sense of moral values Our population is increasing rapidly, but this country still needs more good citizens To be honor and privilege, but there are duties that go with citizenship A good United States citizen must stand upright in his several stations of life He must serve God, his country and himself I am proud of Benton High School's student body My best wishes shall follow you into adult life Sincerely, 'SSA if ., V, -4 . ef Mm g W ' gjjd 5 gf MQ S chool of Benton High T o The Faculty and Student Body r, are directed at the times an 95l-52 school yea My thoughts, as we enter the l conditions in which we live, Our world has always had its tensions, though they have varied with the changing times l-lowever, it seems that the tensions are greater now than ever before As ou! school year gets under way, a tremendous struggle is going on which involves a vast maiority of the people of the world, The world is divided into two camps. One believes that man and his needs are supreme while the other feels that the needs of the State are the most important things, The first we choose to call a democratic society, the other a communistic society, Those of us in America believe that Democracy is our greatest heritage it exists anywhere in the world today it exists in our United States, l believe that the public school system is the chief and most effective mea making and keeping the Democratic ideal alive today. The success with which the public school does its job depends upon the interes an support of all the citizens, This depends upon the training possessed by t e individual citizen. Therefore our schools must give more thought to citizenship training To be a good citizen a person must have mental, moral, economic and social understanding He must also be willing to put his knowledge into practice, This is a big order for our schools but l believe if we, the faculty and students will apply ourselves to the- task that it can be done in Benton lfligh School each student and each teacher to strive to achieve the Q Q Q GD CQ Q l want to challenge itizenship this year, Best Wishes , h oal of good c wortyg Ho w ard Perrin, Supt
