Several days before C istmas, the -westbound bus is stalled in a snowdrift compelling the passengers to all go to the .hotel. Among them was 6 ebfight, breezy sailor by the name of James Kearney, who was on his way west, He had been-Heverywheren, but had never taken' any girl seriously until he met Libby. A local swain, called Harvey Keyser felt that he ,held prior claim upon Libby's affections, having helped her father' financially upon several occasions.
