THE ORACLIE SENIOR POEM The old Demerits were falling fast, As thru the Benton High School passed A class, who bore mid sweat and price, A banner with this strange device Nineteen . Their hearts were brave, Their thoughts were true, They laughed and talked as pupils do, And, like a silver clarion fell, The accents of the old school bell, Nineteen Oh haste, Oh haste the Seniors wept, To the days which oh so slowly crept, They thought they never would pass by, But they always held their banner high, Nineteen A y As Freshies green they felt the pain Of toiling under Dumps strict reign, Beyond, the Senior year dim shone, And from their lips escaped a moan Nineteen Beware of final exams, Prof. said, And don't lose sight of the goal ahead, These words they'd sharply hear Until the end of their last year Nineteen And now at last the time is here, When they must leaiveftheir High School dear But as the years 'gb 'passing by They'll proudly hold their banner high.
