CLASS PROPHECY I've been town cop at Blairstown for about l0 years, and I've had many experiences while working here. But there is one bunch of kids that I'l1 never forget and I don't imag- ine they will forget me either. I came here back in '65 when these kids were quite rowdy, but they weren't really as bad as they thought. As I recall, I used to go downtown about 8:00, and they would be doing --- well, what- ever kids that age usually do. I hear now, that they're all doing quite well. Allen Ullerich is selling Fords and driving stock cars in his spare time. In '72, he won the 500 mile race at Indianapolis Speedway. Terry Buelow, Darwin Rieck, Dennis Crow, Brian Hartz, Jeff Osborne, and Marion Siek are now running productive farms. Why, just last year Brian was given the Worst Farmer of the Year award, with Marion and Dennis running a close second. Speaking of farming, I understand that Kathy Risdal won the Favorite Farmer's Daughter award in '69 and is now going on to higher things. Two outstanding forest rangers , Brian Gage and Kenny Vargason, have been hired at Hannen State Park. They're having quite a time keeping the jack rabbits from eating the shrubs. Ivan Alcott is running a profitable business cracking people's backs and necks, while his assistant, Sharon Brecht, glues them back together, John Shuck is employed at Cape Kennedy. He is busily making plans for a five man rocket, which will be sent to Mars next year. Do you remember Gary Mclvlains, better known as Green ? Well, he is now in busi- ness with his father. They have expanded from their TV and Radio Repair to a Taxi Service. Gary now has a patent on all of his Kelly Green Taxis. Joan Hannen and Dixie Newton have combined their skills and are now running the world famous D gl J's Beauty Salon in New York City. Julie Peiffer and her husband have now retired at the age of 28 on their peaceful sea- shore mansion on Prairie Creek. By the way, Blairstown is now a college town. We have the University of Blairstown and the Blairstown Junior College, the college where you learn how to succeed in college without really trying. The University has many renown professors, like Mary Van Steenhuyse, Beth Grunewald, Sandy Smith, and Sandy Frimml. Philip Stoddard, better known as Beater , is now running the biggest monoply in gas stations since Rockefeller's monopoly in the oil business. Roger Rieke is handling Phillip's legal problems. Carolyn Kahle, Sharon Carter, and Janet Braasch are hard-working secretaries at the White House for the President and Vice-President. Anne Baker, now better known as Anna Maria Bakarte, is appearing in an opera at Carnagie Hall. Anne is the star and the opera has been held over for almost two years. All in all, I think these kids have done quite well for themselves. CLASS HISTORY ln September of 1952, practice for Our Graduation Day was begun. 43 parts were as- signed and the young stars that tried out were: Harold Alcott, Beverly Bolger, Dennis Brecht, Sharon Brecht, Sharon Carter, Barbara Ealy, Dennis Fant, Linda Gaines, Lou Ellen Ginther, Beth Grunewald, Joan Hannen, Brian Hartz, Bob Hinchcliffe, Donald Hiner, Carolyn Kahle, Earl Krueger, Virginia Learn, Douglas Lenton, Jeanne Mapes, Ptrick Martin, Gary McMains, Alfred Meyer, Daryl Meyer, Dixie Newton, Lesley Paulsen, Julia Peiffer, Larry Peska, Roger Rieke, Kathryn Risdal, John Roth, Beverly Schram, Linda Schuldt, Marvin Schulte, John Shuck, Marion Siek, Alan Stewart, Glen Stoddard, Allen Ullerich, Mary Van Steenhuyse, Kenny Vargason, Billy Voss, and Sandra Young. Before the end of the year Donald Hiner, John Roth, Allen Walter, Lou Ellen Ginther, Jeanne Mapes, Sandra Young, and Barbara Ealy decided that practice was too long and left the cast. ln order to keep the cast even, Duane Hakanson, Sharon Pence, Dennis Crow, Sandra Frimml, Janet Braasch, Larry Eppers, and Darwin Rieck joined us in our first year. Second grade found us without Bob Hinchcliffe, Larry Eppers, Virginia Learn, Douglas Lenton, Lesley Paulsen, Sharon Pence, but the addition of Terry Buelow, Judy Zrudsky, and Judy Gross helped to fill the vacancies. At the end of the year, we traded Larry Peska, Judy Gross, Dennis Fant, and Duane Hakanson for newcomers. During third grade, Anne Baker, Ronald Dye, Richard Stoddard, and Mary Jo Midthun joined us for rehearsal. Our progress was fine but casualties from our hard practices mounted. Ronald Dye, Richard Stoddard, Mary Jo Midthun, Patrick Martin, Earl Krueger, and Joan Hannen left us only to be replaced by Randa Neuhous and Charles Martin during fourth grade. At the close of fourth grade, Judy Zrudsky and Randa Neuhous left to join a new cast. During fifth grade, Phillip Stoddard, Brian Gage, and Joan Hannen joined our rehearsals but Phillip Stoddard, Linda Schuldt, Glen Stoddard, Billy Voss, and Beverly Bolger quit because they tired of the script. As we entered sixth grade thirty-two actors and actresses composed our expanding cast but Joan Hannen, Darwin Rieck, and Beverly Schram left because of other commit- ments. Richard Kelly and Jeff Osborn joined us at the beginning of seventh grade but Richard Kelly left because of a change in the script. Our first dress rehearsal was held May 24, 1961. Ninth grade found us without Alfred Meyer, and Linda Gaines but Jim Fitzgerald, Frances Schulte, Janice Weisert, Sandra Smith, Phillip Stoddard, and Darwin Rieck were added to our cast. Jim Fitzgerald was absent as we began our sophomore year but Joan Hannen rejoined the troupe to begin practicing. Daryl Meyer, Charles and Frances Schulte had departed by eleventh grade and we lost Janice Weisert and Dennis Brecht at the end of the year, Before our final production was presented, Deanna Woodstrichill joined the cast but left because she had a previous engagement. The stage production of Our Graduation Day was presented May 26 with the following 29 dependable classmates ending l3 years of long rehearsals and work: Harold Alcott, Anne Baker, Janet Braasch, Sharon Brecht, Terry Buelow, Sharon Carter, Dennis Crow, Sandy Frimml, Brian Gage, Beth Grunewald, Joan Hannen, Brian Hartz, Carolyn Kahle, Gary McMains, Dixie Newton, Jeff Osborn, Julia Peiffer, Darwin Rieck, Roger Rieke, Kathryn Risdal, Marvin Schulte, John Shuck, Marion Siek, Sandy Smith, Alan Stewart, Phillip Stoddard, Allen Ullerich, Mary Van Steenhuyse, and Kenny Vargason.
