Y , fm . 1 f'kx ful-5, cuss Hlsronv I 4 We will never forget our first day of school Most of our parents had to take us to school because we were so bashful and feared our new venture in life Gradually we be- came us ed to the idea of being with our new friends and we grew to like school During the next few years our skills in reading and writing improved, 'we thought, but sometimes our d teachers questioned this Also we began to learn that 2 -l- 2 4, and as the years passe by our course of study became extended and we finally had to learn how to study and to do a liked 't because l1ttle night work We gr1ped' about it of course, but at the same t1me we 1 we were learning and a Our eighth grade proved very exciting The highlights were a wonderful skating party weiner roast The Legion Awards went to Janet Fefolt and Joe S8lV1tt1 Rexnernber how very t d rin this frightened they were before they gave their acceptance speeches Also, 1 was u g year that We saw Esther Petronka spell her way to championship 9th grade, Mr N Hrutkay and Mrs Bernowski sponsored a Get could get better acquainted with the new students from Somerset We really got acquainted, d1dn't we? ? We will never forget our initiation day when those wicked Sophomores smeared our faces with lipstick We had fun eating hot peppers and onions, drinkmg vanilla and crawling on our knees Remember when we would talk too much and Mr Hrutkay would make us write, S11ence is a Golden Virtue, 500 times? Those were the good old days Our Freshmen Frol1c was held on Friday, the 13th and boy were we unlucky that night! I It rained' At the beginning of Together party so we VKE're sure that Mr Roche and Mrs Aebi will never forget our class with fondness we hope Our two rooms were not one class as we were later it seems that it took Father Time to bring us together Everyone remembers the incident about paper and II ke holes' We were good kids at heart though Christmas brought our Enchanted Y Forest and mistletoe in the air vent As we graduated 1nto the Jusnior Class, we passed our lipstick rights to the new Sophomores August Z9 1956 and we were Juniors! I We'll always remeniber the forlorn express ions on Mr C Hrutkay's and Mr Vernall1s's faces They had the task, as our home room teachers, to reform us However, nearly half our class, somehow managed to f h maintain a C Ln conduct throughout the entire year They were proud o us W en we raise g arrived and after some battle we got the ones we wanted While sweating over ' finals we kept hoping for a better more rewarding Senior Year! I ! At last the big day arrived and we became Seniors Qto the dismay of Misses Nelson and Kilonskyj Doug, Jerry, Joan and Janie were elected class officers We d After began the year right by selling magazines with Roundy leading the para e orderin name cards we began our play, 'Curtain Going Up ' Since we did our best S 1 work in our undergrad days with little rehearsal, we repeated this practice in our i senior year Many thanks to Mr Ernler for doing such a wonderful Job in nnking t a success We will never forget that surprise love scene by Doug and Phyllis Dec d th ernber saw pose after pose for our senior pictures Days seemed to :Ely an e ll hri h 1 da s arrived and with them our party 1sn't it fun playing musical C stmas o 1 y , chairs ? Many a night was spent burning the midnight oil over yearbook work Februar saw Joan elected May Queen with Janie and Janet K as her Maids of Y Honor Finally The evening arrived Prom Night spelled 1n magic held at the aluar George Washington Hotel on May 9 The days waned and Class Night, Bacc e ate, and Commencement passed Our revolutionary class bid a weepy farewell of life to B H S and separated, each going in his own direction down the pathway Class Color Red and White Class Flower Pink Rose W Class Motto Succeed, we can we must we will :Ze . n . .
