Yes, tragedy has struck again, A sharp and fatal blow, Coming out of nowhere, No one was to know. God has taken him away, To answer his beck and call, Never to be forgotten, Who once walked in our hall. Dear God, just why do things hap- pen like this, Why did you come and take our Chris '? I guess it's things that we'll never know, For some of us to stay While others must go. May she rest in peace For our many memories will never cease. Though our eyes fill with tears and Our hearts want to cry, The image we hold within us will Never, ever die. WILLIAM HIGGINS 1937 - 1952 I This country has given us the privilege of making a new life for ourselves. For this we will always feel gratitude. Donald was To our sponsor, who has given unselfishly of his time in guiding us through the many activities of our Senior Class, we owe our gratitude. It is through his co-operation and unfailing advice that our senior year was suc- cessful. Thank you Mr. Rotrock, for an excellent job. THE SENIORS Hfaafxgfcbtoaq With the same forward look and steadfast purpose that motivated our pioneering fore- fathers in their search for better and more independent standards of living and thinking, the group that was destined to become the graduating class of nineteen hundred and fifty-five broke into the circle of activities of Bentley High School. As full-fledged ninth graders we felt quite important, but somehow the seniors still seemed tall and menacing. Our enthusiasm and interst in social events grew as the eighth graders gave us our first real formal dance, the annual Freshman Banquet. We entered our Sophomore year with our first class election. To lead us we chose Gary Clark as president. In the fall of this year the entire class was greatly saddened by the death of our schoolmate, William Higgins. This was only the beginning, for following in his footsteps we chose Danny Gulbronsen as Junior Class president and Suzi Wilson as our Sen- ior Class president. Tragedy struck us again in our Junior year as we lost another classmate, Christine Ben- son. The selecting of our class rings and a memorial trophy to Chris, were topics of heated discussion. Our beautiful and long remembered J-Hop, Ebb Tide g the annual Sadie Haw- kin's Dance g our class play, George Washington Slept Here g and the Dew Drop Hop topped our list of Junior activities. The long awaited Senior year was ushered in by the selection of Senior pictures. Christ- mas card sales and the Senior play, Our Town followed in quick succession. Included in the hustle and bustle of this busy year were the rummage sale and candy concessions. One memory not to be forgotten was our beautiful Senior Prom held in the spring. Excitement and youthful energy made the Senior trip to Washington, D. C..a fitting climax to our last year. The memories we have gathered here shall be cherished forever, not to be forgotten in years to come. 22 BA ILEY , DEL IA ..Dee.. Great things are accomplished by those who do their best. G.A.
