“
It was once said, 'That by friendship you mean the greatest love, the greatest usefulness, the most open communication, the no- blest sufferings, the severest truth, the heartiest counsel, and the greatest union of minds of which brave men and women are capable.” The students at Las Animas High show all of these and many more, which make it a special place to be; help each other through problems and over obstacles; show the school motto - The strength of a Trojan depends on the strength of all Trojans - to a tee. Cover By Ralph M. Sanchez •DSDjeAZJON 1985-86 Das Animas Migh School Zrojan 'Dedicated It is with deepest respect that the Annual Staff dedicate the 1985-86 Annual to the memory of Mr. E.E. Bruegel. Mr. Bruegel lead the Las Animas High School students and faculty as principal from 1939- 1971. His gentle nature was an inspiration and an example for all with whom he came in contact. His firm, fair discipline was tempered with understanding and concern. His commitment to education was exemplified not only during school hours but throughout the community and into his retirement. Mr. Bruegel epitomized the educated man. Jennifer Baublits ABMINISTRATIEJN am Administration is an integral and important part of the total educational process. They are the ones in the trenches helping students, teachers, and community at every turn. School Board members Santos Gonzales and Shawn McGrath visit the school. Some will be forever and others are passing kinds which had touches to help make other friend- ships easier. At LAHS as well as anywhere, a friend is a very important part of life; for without it one cannot survive. As this year closes, so do the pages here which depict memories which will last a lifetime. Hold strong to those friendships that you have gained and you shall always be part of the Trojan strength. And that's the way it was at LAHS 1985- 86. 116 JDCTEA5
