GREG McADAM-EDITOR Change isn't always synonymous with progress, but it's evident that the 1967-68 school year has brought many changes which mean a better future for those who walk these halls and study in these classrooms. The new building created an excitement and a fresh pride in the school few students experienced. Moving over a weekend was an experience the teachers and students will not forgt or wish to relive. New trends in edu- cation, extended offerings in academic areas, and a pleasanter envior- ment are only a few benefits shared by faculty and students because of the new facility. Other changes will affect students at Las Animas. Having a winning football team since “Who can remember when? or seeing our baseball team win a state championship might be a direct result of a league switch from AAA-AA. The manner of selecting queens at LAHS, a long stand- ing tradition was changed to guarantee a senior queen with underclassmen as attendants. These are only three changes in the atmosphere at LAHS. There were others but they need not be mentioned here. The staff members of the 1968 yearbook have spent innumberable hours on this book, hoping to record with dignity one page in the history of our school—one academic year.
