DEDfCATTON MBS- SAUJE BRVNIN We have dedicated our yearbook to a woman who is herself dedicated. Mrs. Bryning has been a friend to all her students and has tried to help and understand them, overlooking all the carelessness, forgetfulness, and in- consideration often shown by them. As sponsor of the yearbook she has spent many hours doing the work that the editor and staff “just didn’t seem to get done”. She is the one who has built up confidence on the staff and has encouraged the members to do their best—she has kept us going. FOREWORD “By wisdom a house is built, .and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.” Proverbs 24: 3-4 Several years ago the name of our school was changed from Bent County High School to Us Animas High School. Now, after many years, a new L.A.H.S. is to be constructed. The class of ’67, this year’s Juniors, will be the last to be graduated from the present school. Since its construction in 1914, many students have passed through its halls, and each one has left his own impression. The walls harbor many memories which will never be forgotten. The newly constructed school will be a place for students to grow in mind, body, and spirit. Here, many new memories will be made, new achievements recorded, and new ideas in education will be developed. Although the school and students have changed through the years, the ideals and goals have not. We must set these goals carefully and then strive to attain them. In order to make our dreams become reality, we must work. Our quest to fulfill these dreams will be difficult, but not impossible. Maturity and flexibility are the primary elements which will determine our success or failure. The world is ever-changing, and in order to succeed we must have the maturity to face it, without qualms, and the flexi- bility to change with it. If we hesitate or become complacent, our dreams will shatter. In closing, we challenge each of you to excel through vision, enlightenment and understanding. As you look back through the pages of the '66 Trojan, may you recognize the significance of a wonderful year. If you students are pleased by this record of your achievements and disappointments, then all our endeavors shall be rewarded. Editor 1966 Trojan -4-
