Mr. Harold Andersen, Administrative Vice-principal, came to Benson from a teaching position at Grant High School and was head ot the vocal music department here for several years prior to being named to his present duties in l96l, Prior to being at Grant, Mr, Andersen had taught at St. Helens High School, Administration Our newest Vice-principal, Mr. Aki Nishimura, has been on his job here tor the past two years and may be said to have been thoroughly broken in now. Mr. Nishimura has charge of shops and replaced Mr. George Brown who held the post for some 36 years prior to retiring. Principal ln l955 Benson's principal, Mr, Marvin Rasmussen, came to Benson from the faculty of Roosevelt l-ligh School as a vice- principal, The eleven years since his arrival have been stimu- lating and exciting ones to all concerned. Many changes have come to Benson Polytechnic School since Mr. Rasmussen's ar- rival and, with the addition ct a new South Shop Wing, the re- designing of the C Wing, and the addition of the new gym which was dedicated last tall, the school has an entirely new look. Administration Peterson, Dono ld Vice-Principal Mr. Donald Peterson, Benson's Curriculum Vice-principal since l962, came to Tech from the head basketball coaching position at Franklin High School. Mr. Peterson has charge ot class scheduling, curriculum development, is advisor to the PTA, and directs the academic program.
