CLASS PROPHECY The time is a warm June Night in 1965. We find our Senior Class from Ben- son High School enjoying a big celebration on the Moon. We were flown here on the Flying Saucer by our famous pilots, Shelton Barefoot and J. E. Beasley. As we walk around the Moon enjoying ourselves we find Donald Holland and Stacy Bailey with their wives and families trying to find time for a vacation to Mars. John Surles and Dan Parrish are opening an agriculture college trying to make the Moon an agricultural center. Daphine Lynch and Doris Hall are married and have their hands full of their own problems. Over in another corner Betty Mosely, surgeon, is heard telling her two head nurses , Sue Burgess and Frances Mangum, of her many operations she has per- formed, while Sylvia Pritchard has boarded the fastest Flying Saucer of all times and has been seen in Mars, on the Earth, and is now on her way to the Moon doing a great job in Missionary work. Some of the old class seem to have disappeared. But no, let us look out on the terrace of the Celestial Club. We find Jean Jernigan, Bobbie Mc Lamb, Rachel Lee , Pat Whittington, Doris Adams, and Lavonne Johnson as outstanding secretaries. Jean is secretary of the Hudson Candy Co., formerly known as Bryant ' s Candy Co. , Bobbie is secretary for her Father ' s Construction Co. , Rachel and Pat are secretaries for President Eisenhower, while Doris and La- vonne have topped us all and are private secretaries for General Ovalee Bare- foot and Corporal Curtiss Morgan. Oh yes, we almost forgot Glenn Holmes, Roy Stewart, and Stacy Penny are co-owners of the biggest coal mine located on the Moon. Don Norris and Elmo Norris own the only saloon with Katie Gold Lee, Peggy Godwin, Jewel Johnson, and Jackie Wood as chorus girls. These girls are terrific ! Well look who ' s walking in now! Jerry Medlin and Jimmy Taylor have grad- uated from the biggest and best patrol school. They are now seen as big, bold patrolmen doing a splendid job of keeping the Moon in good order. Looking back on the educational side, Junior Matthews is now principal of Benson High School with Goldie Blackman, Lenora Langdon, Shirley McLamb, Barbara Dorman, and Sue Denning as teachers. Wade Langdon is also there as the boys baseball coach while Billie Jean Jones is the girls basketball coach. Cornelia Porter , being a great lover of baseball is married and raising her own team. Linda Woodall , Faye Creech, Doris Langdon, and Faye Stevens have just re- turned from Paris on a buying spree for their dry good stores which are now open in full swing and are serving the entire Moon with the latest fashions. They are the stylists from the Mason, Miller, Elliot, and Norris Corporation. Al most completing our circle around the clubhouse, we find Barbara Woodall and Linda Lee as Deans of Peace College where they have majored mainly in French. Yes , it ' s been a swell time here on the Moon as the 1955 Graduating Class of Benson High School gather for a big celebration and grand introduction. 21
