Last Will and Testament STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA County of Johnston Benson High School Town of Benson We the class of ' 46, departing from this dear old building where we through these many years have gained our knowledge, declare this our last will and testament, leaving unto our successors our dearest and most beloved possessions here at Benson High School. SECTION I Article I. To our parents we leave our love and deepest appreciation for their continuous efforts in helping us to reach our goal. Article 2. To Benson High School we leave our ability to raise money in large sums and our spirit of work, cooperation, and loyalty. SECTION II Article 1. To the faculty we leave our most sincere thanks and appreciation for their co- operation and loyal sympathy during our many trials and difficulties. Article 2. To Principal Barefoot, who we could never thank enough for the great number of things he has done for us toward making this great day in our lives possible, we bequeath our gratitude in every way possible. SECTION III Article 1. We leave to the following seniors advice on how to get along with the principal and teachers. 1. Take the teacher an apple or some flowers occasionally. 2. Don ' t chew gum in certain teachers classes. 3. Do not ask the teacher if that ' s all of the assignment. 4. Don ' t be too hasty to volunteer. 5. Agree with Mr. Barefoot in all things. SECTION IV Article 1. To the next Senior Class we leave to you a wholesome and luring atmosphere along with a good school spirit. We wish you individually a life of happiness and success. Article 2. To the Sophomore Class we will and bequeath our treasured privileges ' ' to be used with care, lest they be deprived of them. Article 3. To the Freshman Class we leave our stickability to be used in helping them to become seniors. SECTION V Article 1. Individually we desire to give our virtues and talents to those who need them most and to those who will use them best; therefore, we make the following bequests: 1. Dorothy Watson leaves her cooperative and winning ways to Wilma Lee Coats. 2. Melba Adams bequeaths her care-free air and friendly disposition to Evangeline Neighbors. 3. Betty Jean Denning leaves her truthfulness to her husband to all girls who many and continue to go to school. 15
