1940 THE MILL 1941 GENERAL TNPROVEIENTS OF TH SCHOOL At the beginning of this school year, one hour class per1 ods were introduced. Each class perlod is d1vided into approx 1mately a half hour of recitatlon nd half hour of supervised study A special parking lot was made at one s1de of the school grounds bec use of the heavy traffic and danger of parklng 1 front of the school A gr velled dr1veway through an alley near the school is used as Tl entrance to the parking space The return to school after ChTl8tm38 vaoatlon was net with surprise by the students A new fountain was installed on the top floor of the bullding, a lavatory and mirror were placed 1n the girls' cloakroom, and the floors were varnlshed A room were redecorated One of the most importaat features of improvement 1n the school is the new lighting system New and better lights were mnstalled in every room and in all the hallways Our ma1y th1nks are extended toward the F F A boys 'who washed the walls 1n the history, Engllsh, and agr1culture rooms The school new owns all of 1ts typewriters four Royals and four Underwoods A new stencil duplmcatlng m chino was purchased for use 1n the oommerclal depm-tment and for publish lng the school newspaper New equlpment and new books were purchased for the various departments A complete milk testlng progran was set up in the agriculture classes In m1d November, the bo1ler of the heat1ng plant broke down nd it w s necessary to inst ll a complete new bo1lor The old one had served faithfully and well for a per1od of twenty four years x I x.
