DEDICATION The class of '60 wishes to thank you, Mr. Grimstad, for what you have done to make Benson High a school of which we are proud to be grad- uates. As you have so faithfully served as our prin- cipal for the past twelve years, we dedicate to you our 1960 Chippewa. 4

CLASS OFFICERS President, Dennis Hughes; Student Council, James Aust; Vice President, Eugene Ellingson; Treasurer, Edward Arneson; Secretary, Micael Gallagher. As the time for saying our good-byes draws near, we realize that graduation will not be just the grand time we anticipated. Now we begin to feel sad about leaving, yet we smile to ourselves as we think back. As green freshmen, most of us reached the exciting age of fifteen and were eligible for Driver's Training. As this was our first year to participate in the Homecoming program, we chose Joe Bach and Steve Kufrin as banner-bearers. Our first year in Senior High promoted us downstairs in the left section of the auditorium. Remember the thrill of being admitted to the school parties? Some of us were also honored by being chosen to wait tables at the Jr.-Sr. Banquet. Finally we reached the age of responsibility! Juniors! After numerous petitions for their early arrival, we decided Everybody Wants Denny's Ring. The Whole Town's Talking and the whole town was talking about the success of our Jr. Class Play, which Miss A. Johnson directed. The highlight of the year was our Jr.-Sr. Banquet. Misplacing driftwood and mixing the color combinations didn't halt the success of our Seaside Retreat. Truthfully we didn't feel any older or more learned for being Seniors. Margie Johnson and Denny Rutledge reigned over our last Homecoming. Our class play Dear Ruth was a great success. The highlights finishing our Senior year were the banquet, prom, skip day, and finally commencement.
