OFFICERS: Leann Hughes, Student Council Representative; Cynthia Christopherson, Secretary; Eugene Waldowski, Treasurer; James Juntilla, President; Pat Gallagher, Vice President. SENIORS Our Story We were 113 green freshmen when we entered Benson High School in 1954. Lola Pederson was chosen as our first class president. Taking the freshmen honors as banner bearers were Chuck O’Brien and Bob Huston. At last, Senior High School! Class president of our sophomore year was Pat Gallagher. Rock 'n' Roll Rendezvous was the theme for the banquet, which we were still too young to attend, but 24 lucky sophs waited tables. No More Homework, the title of our Junior Class Play, didn't seem fitting as we struggled through Mr. Long’s as- signments. After Christmas the Gopher’s Whistle was ours--an All-American rating, too. The ordering of our class rings made us realize our high school days were almost over. White and aqua was the color scheme for Un- derwater Fantasy, our banquet theme. Jean Gesme.our junior class president, shouldered the responsibility as toast- mistress and general chairman. Chosen as our Girls’ Stater was Cynthia Christopherson. Well, we finally made it! Seniors, at last! From the first of the year until after Homecoming, we were kept guessing --who would be King and Queen. The honorable positions were filled by Pat Gallagher and Lola Pederson. Jim Juntilla held the important class office of president. All My Sons, our Senior Class Play, created a great flood of praise from the spectators. We were also fortunate hosts of a Spanish foreign exchange student, Victor Lopez. The banquet,of which we were now the guests, came upon usinahurry. Then, all too soon, we,98 strong now, wereready --ready for the long walk which marked the conclusion of our high school days and the reaching of a goal we had long sought for. Suddenly it was all over! But wasn’t it wonderful? 4
