Lange Bensenville High School is proud of its championship band, and well it might be, for it has evolved from a nucleus of twenty-three members to its present eighty-four. In 1930 the band entered its first contest, only three years after its founding. Although it didn't win at this time, the first victory came soon after in l932. Ex- cluding the war years when no contests were held, the band achieved seventeen victories in succession. All this has come to pass under the marvelous direction of Mr. Huffman. In the last few years a wider interest has been shown in music. Under the fine leadership of Mr. Krueger, we have an outstanding choir. Mr. Krueger is also working on organizing an orchestra and various glee clubs.
