This is the genie who has protected and guided us during our high school years. Through toil and strife, through joy and happi- ness, he has presided over our destiny. He has witnessed the period of our life, when we were just be- ginning to realize the value of an education, until the time when we accepted and recognized it with full understanding. He has seen us grow in character, mind, and ability, as well as in body. As we, the seniors of Bensalem High School, make use of the knowledge and wisdom we have developed during these past twelve years, our friend, the genie, guides us into the land of the future, which opens before us. Once there, we can establish in our minds the priceless influ- ence which has succeeded in making its presence felt. YEARBOOK STAFF EDITOR AA,,,,,,................ -..,v,,..,. BOGARDE Although Bensalem didn't win all their games, they gained the much needed experience that they lacked. Sam Mudie and Bob Dwyer led our team in scoring with 25 and 18 points respectively. Each player on the team should be praised for his tireless efforts. J. DOERR W. BEESON S ESPOSITO T GLOYD AN TIME fl Coaches: R. WATERS C. Ellis, Mr. Benshetler. 24 As my carpet came to rest it landed near many others. When I asked what they were l was told they were wrestling mats. Wrestling is one of the coming sports of Lower Bucks County. The Owl matmen have a well- rounded team and considering this is only the second year of wres- tling at Bensalem, have made an impressive showing. Mr. Waters, ably assisted by Mr. Benshetler, has done a marvelous job with the boys. He has predict- ed a wrestling championship for Bensalem in the near future. The Wrestling team in action. One of the more popular sports at Bensalem is GIRL WATCHING. Participation by the boys is 1001 . There are two features about this game which make it so interest- ing: 1. Nobody ever loses. 2. It doesnit take much practice before you become an expert. As all well educated people will tell you, Mto observe is to broaden your knowl- edgef, But, even if the boys do not gain any knowledge from this sport, it is still good exer- cise for the eyes. .K Qin' . 3 we JI M? we KIRK 7 2455 I H, RUTECKI S. One of these activities is the school newspaper. This year the publication was changed to a paper in place of the past book. With the change came a new name, Owlmanac. With the hard work that Gail Wernsing, Editor of the Owlmanac, gives and the effort that the staff constantly puts into the paper, the publication has been a great success in keeping the students up to date with the happenings at Bensalem. vm V S 4 I' :iw l It -lr f 'Q k'4 I1 it K N 3 I .Qi A K l Q e ,r-., f' -.i I 3 Au . , K .5 i s -' r p--. jwggisjg A ,N EQ., if 5 at ' '-'ai ,K N S 4. g gi- . f? r f? ,':. She. along with Mr. Fegely and Mr. Riley have put their best efforts forth to publish an outstanding yearbook. Congratulations, class of 1957. First 'Rt' and most important, was the election of Class Officers and the appointment of an Executive Committee to guide them through the coming year. Both of these groups functioned well and by their able direction the class proved to be successful at everything they attempted to do. Our biggest project was the Christmas Card sale. Seniors really went all out to make this sale successful. The lvy League Hop, a unique dance, turned out to be the best attended dance of the year. I' The Seniors will always be grateful for the guidance shown us by our class 3 advisors. Ig .i l, the Genie, will always remember with fondness, the class of 757. tx Liijvwisl ,t l ie., Y in .A I I .bfi-4'-fq-l5'Bal'?53if ,s v i ,nuM,,M,g p V Q tr, y 1 ' ,fi i . If . One of my most hardiest efforts was that of being the unseen direc- tor of the Senior play, 4',Iunior Promf' It was a very amusing play and by the use of my magical power, I was able to help make the play a huge success. Of course, I must not take all the credit myself. A curtain call is in order for Mr. Eugene Fegely, for the terrific job he did in as- sisting me direct the play. I admit, that even though I had heard the play many times before the opening night, I simply rolled all over my Magic Carpet the night of the Star performanceg the play was that amusing. . is ...
